Jen Hitt is a musician in love with yoga, eggs, skiing, in-season tomatoes, community, dreams, and cheese. Growing up in the Washington D.C. area, Jen started singing in choirs at the age of 4. She received her formal voice training at Rice University and received her Masters in Music from University of Miami in Media Writing and Production.
She spent several summers as a sound engineer for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and working at the House of Musical Traditions. She worked for WAMU for 10 years producing bluegrass and Americana radio. From 2011-2016, Jen lived in Austin, Texas where she performed solo and with ensembles, including the GRAMMY-winning Conspirare. Amphibious Heart is Jen's most recent release, a full length studio album of original songs. Currently Jen is a staff singer for St. John's Episcopal Cathedral and St. Martin's Chamber Choir. She also performs in a folk duo called The Truth About August.
